“Sas Diosas. Miradas, sa arèntzia mea”
(The Goddesses. Glances, my family)

The sound theme uses verses of a poem in Sardinian
language “A Diosa” (The Goddess) written by Badore Sini
(1873-1954),
and set to music for the first time in 1921 as “Non potho
reposare” (I can not rest) by Giuseppe Rachel (1858-1937).
Adapted by Monica Mura (voice and soundscape), played
by Fernando de Arana (guitar) and recorded by Santiago
Rodríguez Fernández.

lyrics

NON POTHO REPOSARE
Salvatore Sini - Giuseppe Rachel
Non potho reposare, amore e coro,
pensende a tie so donzi momentu.
No istes in tristura, prenda ‘e oro,
ne in dispiaghere o pensammentu:
t’assicuro chi a tie solu bramo,
ca t’amo, forte t’amo, t’amo e t’amo.
Amore meu, prenda de istimare,
s’affettu meu a tie solu est dau.
S’hare giuttu sas alas a bolare
milli vortas a s’ora ippo volau,
pro venner nessi pro ti saludare
si atera cosa, nono, a t’abbisare.
Si m’esseret possibile de anghelu
s’ispiritu invisibile picabo
sas formas et furabo dae su chelu
su sole, sos isteddos e formabo
unu mundu bellissimu pro tene
pro poder dispensare cada bene.
Amore meu, rosa profumada,
amore meu, gravellu oletzante,
amore, coro, immagine adorada,
amore, coro, so ispasimante,
amore, ses su sole relughente,
ch’ispuntat su manzanu in oriente.
Ses su sole ch’illuminat a mie,
chi m’esaltat su coro e-i sa mente;
lizu vroridu, candidu che nie,
semper in coro meu ses presente.
Amore meu, amore meu, amore,
vive senz’amargura nen dolore.
Si sa luche de isteddos e de sole,
si su bene chi v’est in s’universu
hare pothiu piccare in d’una mole
commente palumbaru m’ippo immersu
in fundu de su mare a regalare
a tie vida, sole, terra e mare.
Unu ritrattu s’essere pintore,
un’istatua ‘e marmu ti vachìa
s’essere istadu eccellente iscultore,
ma cun dolore ti naro: “Non d’ischìa”.
Ma non balen a nudda marmu e tela
in cunfrontu a s’amore, de oro vela.
Ti cherìo abbratzare ego e basare
pro ti versare s’anima in su coro,
sas menzus cosas dò a tie, anzèlu.
